By using The Goldback Guide you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
What This Site Is
An independent publication offering educational information about Goldbacks and related products. It is not financial, investment, legal or tax advice — see the disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
We are not a dealer. We do not sell Goldbacks, hold customer metal, or process any transaction.
Using the Site
You may read, print and share our pages for your own non-commercial use. You may quote us with attribution and a link.
Please do not:
- Republish substantial portions of our content as your own.
- Scrape the site at volume, or in a way that degrades it for others.
- Use it for anything unlawful, or misrepresent our content as someone else's.
- Present our material as endorsed by, or originating from, any company we cover.
Research Datasets — A Specific Exception
The restrictions in “Using the Site” above do not apply to our published research datasets. Those are released deliberately for reuse, including commercial reuse, under a separate licence, and the terms of that licence prevail over this page wherever the two differ.
This exception currently covers:
- the dated CSV editions of the Goldback Mintage Reference, and
- the accompanying data dictionary and methodology documentation.
For that material, our original selection, arrangement, verification classifications, annotations and methodological documentation are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), to the extent those elements are protected by rights we hold. You may copy, redistribute, adapt and build upon them for any purpose, including commercially, provided you attribute us and indicate any changes you made.
Two things that exception does not do. It does not make the underlying mintage figures ours: those are factual information published by Goldback Inc. and named dealers, attributed to those sources in every record, and we grant no rights over third-party material, trademarks or protected compilations. And it does not extend to the rest of this site — ordinary articles, calculators, diagrams and page design stay under the terms above.
Downloading, copying and redistributing a licensed dataset is expressly permitted and is not the “scraping at volume” the section above asks you to avoid. That request is about automated crawling of the whole site, not about using a file we publish for the purpose of being used.
Intellectual Property
Text, diagrams, calculators and page design here are our own work and remain our property, subject to the research-dataset exception above. Every diagram on this site is drawn by us — we do not use product photography we do not own, and we do not reproduce Goldback's artwork or any government seal.
Trademarks
"Goldback" is a registered trademark of Goldback Holdings Inc. Alpine Gold Exchange, UPMA and other names appearing here are the property of their respective owners.
They are used on this site only to identify the products and companies being discussed, which is ordinary descriptive use. Their appearance does not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement, and none exists.
Accuracy
We verify against primary sources and date every figure — our editorial policy sets out how. But the companies we cover change published terms without notice, and content here may become out of date between revisions.
The site is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it is complete, current or error-free. Always verify with the seller before acting.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or reliance on its content — including financial loss on any purchase, sale, lease or other decision.
You are responsible for your own financial decisions. Nothing here removes that responsibility, and nothing here is a substitute for professional advice or for reading the agreement you are actually offered.
